U.S. Air Force – MacDill Air Force Base, FL
Civil Engineering Services
Akima Facilities Management, LLC (AFM) was awarded the base operations support and base civil engineering services contract at MacDill Air Force Base, FL in September 2009.This contract provides the full range of base operating and civil engineering services to plan, program, design, construct, operate, and maintain base facilities for this strategically vital Air Force base. Akima provides a full range of real property maintenance and repair, utility plant operations, emergency management, and environmental services for the 6th Air Mobility Wing (6 AMW), United States Central Command (USCENTCOM), United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), and other MacDill tenants.
U.S. Army – Fort Gordon, GA
Installation Support Services
Akima was awarded the Installation Support Services contract at Fort Gordon in July 2007. The contract includes public works, maintenance, transportation, and supply functions. AFM provides maintenance and repair for 1547 structures that total 9.6 million square feet; maintenance and repair for nearly 300 heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) units, numerous chillers and boilers, and 3 central heating and cooling plants; maintenance of 102 miles of primary roads and nearly 60,000 acres of grounds; maintenance of about 500 vehicles; and management of a supply inventory comprising well over 2000 lines.
Sandia National Laboratories – Kauai Test Facility, HI
Range and Facility Operation & Maintenance 
The Kauai Test Facility is a Sandia National Laboratories rocket launch range operated for U.S. Department of Energy. AFM provides a wide range of facilities O&M services and test support functions. The facilities and personnel support a variety of sounding rocket missions, including weapons research and development, operational test and evaluation, and technology development.
USDA Eastern Regional Research Center, PA
Facility Operations & Maintenance
AFM supports Eastern Regional Research Center with a full range of facilities O&M services. Work includes facility modifications and renovations, as well as scheduled and preventive maintenance and utility plant operations. Skilled trades employed on this contract include carpentry, painting and refinishing, masonry, electronics, refrigeration, plumbing and pipefitting, electrical, and HVAC. Our staff performs all work as an integral part of the research organization.
USDA Western Regional Research Center, CA
Facility Operations & Maintenance
AFM provides Western Regional Research Center with all the support services to ensure success of the Research Center mission. Work includes facility modifications and renovations, as well as scheduled and preventive maintenance. These services include facility and utility operations and maintenance, utilizing a wide range of skilled trades, custodial services, and building access control.
U.S Department of Energy, Hanford, WA
Installation Support Services
AFM is a major subcontractor performing warehousing services, including receiving, storing, and distributing materials for a variety of customers at the Hanford site. We maintain and manage general supplies and spare parts inventories, and we are responsible for management of all government property on site, as well as proper asset disposition at the end of the useful life of the property and equipment.

Assault Zone/Landing Zone Range Services and Opposing Force Training
AFM supports the Air Force’s Special Operations Command with critical range services to support aircrew training of assault zone and landing zone capabilities. Services include target setup, marking, scoring, and tracking, with near instant feedback to aircrews. Opposing force training facilitates downed aircrews in the art of escape and evasion techniques and provides crews with realistic environments associated with the terrain around Hurlburt Field. Our personnel are responsible for and perform maintenance and repair of government furnished equipment, including weapons, all-terrain vehicles, and other equipment.

Staff Augmentation Support
AFM provides direct support to the Air Force Special Operations Command’s (AFSOC) continuing support of the Global War on Terror by providing support in the following areas:
- Unit Deployment Monitors. Ensure personnel are fully prepared to deploy to austere locations around the globe.
- Command Support. Ensure administrative continuity and management of electronic and paper personnel information.
- Current Operations/Range Schedules. Forecast, develop, and coordinate with various internal and external agencies in the execution of the First Special Operations Wing flying and ground range schedules.
- Training. Schedule, track, and document flying and ground training to ensure active duty personnel are fully trained and capable of performing combat missions in support of the Global War on Terror.
- Current Operations. Serve as the lead for squadron daily flight operations, which includes managing the daily flight schedule, deconfliction of airspace and aircrew qualifications, upgrades, and training flights.
U.S Air Force, Cannon AFB, NM
Assault Zone/Landing Zone Range Services
AFM provides personnel to manage, execute, and support missions and exercises. Missions focus on specific training events typically of less than 1-day duration and involve a specific activity, such as escape and evasion maneuvers, water pickup and rescue, and drop zone training. Our personnel establish target setup, marking, and scoring; direct aircraft; provide opposing forces; perform land and water pickups; provide capture and escape functions; execute link-up and evacuation activities; and manage the safety of the exercise. These training exercises include Special Operations Forces for U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force, and certain international personnel. Our personnel are responsible for and perform maintenance and repair of government furnished equipment, including weapons, all-terrain vehicles, and other equipment.
U.S. Army, Fort Huachuca, AZ
Human Intelligence (HUMINT) Training Support
AFM provides highly skilled human intelligence experts to instruct the U.S. Army 10-level trainees in the art of human intelligence gathering techniques. Our instructors work closely with battalion level staff to ensure the latest techniques are incorporated into the classroom instruction and field level exercises to equip our troops with the best methods for accomplishing their missions.
U.S. Army, Fort Eustis, VA
Automated Telephone Support
AFM provides Fort Eustis with the full range of telephone switch service and maintenance support to ensure full operational capability and communications connectivity. Our highly skilled and certified personnel employ the latest in fiber-optic technology to ensure the highest quality telephone services. AFM also provides limited switchboard support to Fort Monroe and Fort Story. The contract covers all aspects of phone service, including switchboard operators, telephone installation, running cable, installing service to new and renovated buildings, maintaining the telephone switches, trouble shooting customer problems, and maintaining a backup power supply. The phone switch is the latest in technology, and the phone lines vary from the latest in fiber optics to rather old copper and pressurized lines.

Transportation School Instructor Course
AFM provides highly qualified instructors to present classroom instruction and field training to deploying U.S. Army and U.S. Navy Bridge Deck Officer personnel in support of the Global War on Terror. Instruction focuses on maritime and cargo handling subjects related to a variety of maritime vessels. Our instructors are responsible for lesson plan development, classroom instruction, testing and proctoring, and certification for all students.
